Super clean

Our piercing earrings are packaged in sealed, sterilised cartridges and are not opened until for your piercing.

Super safe

Safety backs shield the piercing tip, stop the back being too tight, and allow proper airflow during the healing process.

To keep you and our staff safe we will be wearing masks throughout your piercing and ask that you do the same. All surfaces are sterlised before and after piercings and we will be wearing gloves. We also ask that when coming for your piercing you only bring one other person into the shop with you to ensure we can maintain social distancing.

Piercing FAQs

How does it work?

Before the piercing, we will take you through the relevant forms that need to be signed (You can view them here). Once this is done, we will clean and mark your ear where you would like it pierced - we will always make sure you're happy with the location before carrying out the piercing. When the piercing is done, we will show you how to clean and look after your piercing while it heals.

Where can I have pierced?

We can pierce any part of the ear lobe or cartilage. See the diagram below for the different points we pierce.

We don't currently pierce any parts of the ear shaded in red.

Does it hurt?

Ear piercings are usually the least painful kind of piercing. All our piercing earrings have ultra-thin piercing posts, which help your ears heal faster and minimise any discomfort. All of our trained piercing staff have had piercings at RUBIROX and will put you at ease if you are feeling nervous.

When can I change my piercing earrings?

Changing your piercing is all dependant on how your piercing is healing. We recommend waiting at least 6 weeks for lobe piercings and 12 weeks for cartilage. Once this time has passed you are fine to change your jewellery but the piercing may still get irritated from time to time, if this happens we recommend going back to your piercing care routine until it calms. If you are unsure please contact us or come visit us in-store. For more aftercare information see our guide here.

How long does it take to heal?

Everyone heals differently but minimum healing time for lobe piercings is 6-12 weeks and 1 year for cartilage piercings. These can get irritated even when fully healed if this happens we recommend going back to your piercing care routine until it calms. For more aftercare information see our guide here.

Can my friend/sister/brother get pierced at the same time?

Yes. We are able to pierce two people per booking. Please reply to your confirmation email after booking to let us know if more than one person is getting pierced so we can make sure we're ready.

What's the minimum age?

Our ear piercing service is available for anyone over the age of 13 years old. Under 16s will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Photo ID is required, so please bring a passport or driving licence with you.

  • If you are 16-18 years old you will need to bring a valid ID (either a passport, UK PASS card scheme or driving licence) with you when getting pierced. This is a legal requirement and is needed for insurance purposes. If we think you look under the age of 18 we will ID you, so we advise you to bring along ID just in case. *We cannot accept pictures or photocopies of ID
  • If you are 13-15 years old we can pierce your ears with the permission from a parent or legal guardian, they will have to bring along ID for themselves and the minor. The responsible adult will have to fill out the consent form. If the guardian's surname is different to child's, we require a birth certificate or adoption certificate.
  • How much does it cost?

Our piercing service is free when you purchase any of our piercing earrings. These start from £20 for single stainless steel or titanium ball and up to £60 for a single 18ct Gold crystal stud. Buy a pair of earrings and receive the second half price. Price is inclusive of piercing and cleaning solution.
